Mined Land Reclamation Educational Grant Program

The National Association of State Land Reclamationists (NASLR), a non-profit organization of state officials established for the purpose of promoting and advancing the practice of mined land reclamation, is seeking applicants for its annual educational grant. NASLR intends to award a $2,000.00 grant to the successful applicant in the fall of each year. Grant funds may be used by the recipient to cover costs associated with education and research expenses.

Eligible applicants must be enrolled as full time junior, senior, or graduate student in an accredited college or university in the United States. Course work, special studies, and/or research in the area of mined land reclamation or a closely related field is also required.

Applications will be evaluated on the basis of college grades, quality, and relevance of course work or research, a proposed special project or research budget (if applicable), information obtained from references, and other related considerations. Other factors being equal, preference will be given to applicants from NASLR member states or those enrolled in schools located in NASLR member states.

The successful applicant may be requested to present an oral report on research activities at the annual meeting of NASLR.
